An unusual hexagonal building of hexagonal modules vintage 1973, this was the city's first purpose-built museum houses 70,000 ethnological treasures. There are rotating displays of art and daily items from around the world, while permanent exhibits concentrate on Catalonia and the Pyrenees, Morocco, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, Japan, Australia, Salamanca and South America.
