Villa Corsini a Castello
Lavish Baroque Villa
Grand Duke Cosimo III's councillor Filippo Corsini purchased this villa because it was near his boss's pad, the Villa Medicea della Petraia and had it redesigned by Giovan Battista Foggini. Donated to the Italian State in 1968, the villa has since been beautifully restored with funds from the Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze, work completed in 2010.
The main rooms now hold statues from the archaeology museum, including a unique statue of Hadrian in porphyry, as well as Etruscan sarcophagi and finds from the late 7th-century BC Tomba della Mula in Quinto
It also has a pretty garden, although it's not always open.

Hours second and fourth Sunday of each month from 9am—2pm. Best to ring at least a day in advance to confirm.
