Bicci di Lorenzo
Son of Lorenzo, Father of Neri
Born in Florence, Bicci di Lorenzo (1373–1452) was the son and pupil of Lorenzo di Bicci, who eventually took over his father's studio. Although he followed the formal compositions of his father, his style took a more decorative, International Gothic path. Popular in his day for his great technical skill, he was given numerous prestigious commissions, although many of his works have been damaged over the centuries.
He was the father of Neri di Bicci; look for his paintings in San Giovannino dei Cavalieri, the Cathedral and Museo Bandini in Fiesole, Santa Trínita, and the Musei Sant'Agata in Scarperia.
