pasta with eggs and prosciutto

Invented by a Vatican chef, and said to be Pope Pius XII's favourite dinner, this dish is a slightly more sophisticated version of carbonara sauce. Usually it's served with fettuccine: eggs, prosciutto, cheese, butter and cream, maybe shallots and peas.
