indivia

endives/chicory or frisée even

indivia

Part of the eternal chicory confusion, indivia can (and often does) refer to Belgian endives, but it can also mean scarola (Cichorium endivia latifolium) aka broad-leaved endive, Bavarian endive, Batavian endive, grumolo, and scarole. Then there's indivia ricciuta (Cichorium endivia crispum) or curly endives, or frisée, as the French call it, which has a more bitter taste.
