chinotto

myrtle-leaf orange and a drink

Chinotti are myrtle-leaf oranges, grown in Sicily, Liguria, Tuscany and Calabria. Their sour, bitter fruit the main ingredient of a well-known soft drink, Chinotto, as well as an important flavouring in Campari and most other amari.

Liguria's chinotto di Savona is in the Slow Food Presidium.
