'monstrous citrus' fruit
Grown in Siniscola, this huge ungainly warty big citrus fruit has survived over the centuries due to the popularity of sa pompia intrea, candied fruit laboriously peeled and hollowed, boiled in sugar water for hours and preserved in honey.
