scorpion fish

They're awfully ugly but they make great soup. Other names include scrofano bastardo, sebaste imperiale, scorpenin, and cipudda. Also known as rock fish for their habit of hiding among rocks.

Watch out, the spines are poisonous if you're pricked by one.
