nucatoli

S-shaped biscuits filled with dried fruit and nuts

Also known as mucatoli, the name for these pretty biscuits comes from nagal, the Arabic word for dried fruit. They are filled with a mix of dried figs, honey, walnuts, almonds and cinnamon, with variants in different areas of Sicily and its islands.
