Anisetta
distilled anise seed liqueur
Similar to sambuca, Anisetta is often served in coffee as a caffè corretto. In the Marche, the most famous brand of anisetta, Meletti, has been made in lovely Ascoli Piceno since 1870—in an area famous for its especially good anice. The same family founded the city's landmark café. Also see the Marche's other anise-based tipple, mistrà.
