tacconelle

pasta parallelograms

Also spelled taccozette. Small, square or diamond-shaped pasta, sometimes with a ruffled edge. A speciality of the Abruzzo, and used throughout the south with chick peas to make the favourite pasta i ceci.

Taccozzelle or taccuzzelle are usually somewhat larger. They can also be called tacconi although the ones made in Le Marche are totally different. Or not. The parallelogram kind in Le Marche might also be called taccozze da muline or taccozzelle.
