scampi

Dublin bay prawns

Also known as Norway lobster (It really is a little lobster, though it looks more like a crayfish). Regardless of size they are called interchangeably scampi or scamponi. Most are from the North Sea, but populations do exist in the Mediterranean. Italians like them on pasta: linguine agli scampi.

In Italy they'll call other related species scampi too.
