sfrappe

carnival 'angel wings' fritters

Made with eggs, flour, salt, vanilla, butter, flour and a bit of rum, sfrappe are fried in lard or olive oil, and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Other common names for the same include: sfrappole, chiacchere, bugie, lies, cioffe, crostole crogetti, grostoli, intrigoni frappecrostoli, cenci, galani and frappe.
