condiglione

mixed salad with anchovies or tuna

Very similar to a salad Niçoise, generally using onions, black olives, anchovies, bell peppers, basil and garlic and so on, and sometimes boiled eggs and tuna, lavishly dressed in olive oil, so much so that there's a saying:

Non mi fido di tre cose: condiglione senza condimento, bella donna civettuola, contadino senza tridente

(There are three things I don't trust: a condiglione without dressing, a flirtatious beautiful woman, and a peasant without a pitchfork).
