Can also be spelled nocciuole, and used in many desserts and biscotti.

Many of Italy's grow in Piedmont, where they get made into Nutella and gianduja. The nocciola gentile romana from north of Rome is a DOP product; the nocciola di Griffoni from Campania (also known as the tondo di Griffoni) is IGB.

The Fiera Nazionale della Nocciola takes place in Cortemilia in Piemonte every August, showcasing the little nut in all its forms, with concerts and comptetions and more
