This museum, dedicated to Venice's favourite lover, rascal, adventurer and bon vivant Giacomo Casanova opened in 2018 in the 15th-century Ca' Pesaro Papafava on the Canale della Misericordia. Using multimedia and virtual reality, it evokes the many sides to Casanova: his travels, his childhood and escapades in Venice, his seductions and scholarly accomplishments and his witty chronicle of 18th-century high life; it also covers the numerous films based on his life over the years.
