Hotel of pastel giants
Now a five star hotel, the 15th-century Ca' Sagredo on the Grand Canal originally belonged to the Morosini clan before being purchased in the 1600s by the Sagredo family, who had it redecorated by some of the most prestigious artists of the 17th and 18th century: Nicolò Bambini, Giambattista Tiepolo, Sebastiano Ricci and most astonishingly Pietro Longhi, who frescoed the silliest fluffiest pastel Fall of the Giants ever along the Grand Stair.
Before it became a hotel, it was used as a location in The Talented Mr Ripley (1999).
