Beautiful chocolates and pastries in a beautiful shop

Redesigned in 1902 with colourful Modernista trencadi mosaics, sculptures, polished wood and stained glass, Escribà is the most beautiful shop in the city, and offers sublime chocolates, bonbons, macaroons and cheesecakes, crema catalana, and some of the best coffee on BCN's main tourist thoroughfare. Many people walk right past thinking a place that pretty can't be any good, but they're wrong.
