Domus of Sant Honorat

An Ancient Roman House Under the Street

Mosaic in the Domus

During street repairs near the corner of Carrers Sant Honorat and Fruita, a large 4th-century AD Roman house was discovered, with mosaics and private baths that probably belonged to one of Barcino's elite. In the Middle Ages, it was converted into silos for storing grain for the Call, before it was buried under the modern streets. It's now open to visitors on weekends.
