Gekookte wulken (bulots)

Whelks are often served along France’s Atlantic coast as an assiette de bulots à l'aïoli (steamed or boiled whelks with a bowl of garlic mayonnaise for dipping).

Other names fot them are buccin, gros buccin and bourgot.
