Originally made with pomegranate (grenade) juice, sugar and water, the modern version in France tends to be a mix of red fruits, vanilla, sugar and lemon. It’s often added to cocktails for colour (as in a Tequila Sunise) but children in particular like it disolved in a glass of cold water—as one of the many flavours of sirop available.
