In late autumn, as the leaves fall from the trees, there are some that look as if they are all ready for Christmas, decorated with orange ornaments. These are the kaki, soft and sweet persimmons and liked by few (at least I have yet to meet anyone who does—everyone with a tree is always trying to give them away). But they are pretty.
Kakis are also known as the plaquemine du Japon, plaquemine de Chine, or figue caque.
