kascher

kosher

Kosher restaurants mi-va-mi 27 rue des Écouffes and L'As du Fallafel 34 rue des Rosiers, Marais, IVe arrondissement, Paris, France.

Kosher in French is kascher or cacheroute. France has the largest Jewish population in Europe. They have been present for 2000 years, but because of recent terrorist attacks and a rise in antisemitism, many French Jews have left for Israel.

French kosher signs

The Marais, in Paris’s IV arrondissement, has been the centre of Jewish life in the capital since the 13th century; its rue des Rosiers is Jewish food central; but even there you should make sure your falafel or shawarma is geniunely kosher.
