pagre

red porgy (common sea bream)

Common seabream or red porgy (Pagrus pagrus) from the Gulf of Mexico

Pagrus pagrus. Also known as pagre commun, pagre rouge or brème de mer, it’s sometimes confusingly called a dorade, because they pretty much look alike, the the daurade royale or gilt head bream is a different fish.

Red porgy live in both the Atlantic and Mediterranean and are an important aquaculture fish—like the gilt head bream.
