Muroise or mûre-framboise is a cross between the American blackberry and red raspberry. Their offspring can be either a loganberry (an older, acciental American blackberry raspberry cross) or a tayberry, named after the River Tay in Scotland, where the fruit was developed, which are sweeter and more aromatic than loganberries but rare to find them in the shops; they are soft and don’t transport well.
If you are buying them for your garden, check the variety, to make sure you get the one you want.
