Thin pancake made with flour, salt and water, fried in olive oil, then rolled or layered around a filling, usually savoury. The classic version, πέτουλες της Μεσσηνίας (petoules tis Mesinias) from Messenia, are layered with myzithra, olive oil and herbs. Also known as πλακόπιτες (plakopites) or νερόπιτες (neropites).
