On Sámos, Páros and Rhodes this raki like brandy is made from grapes and marc; on Chíos it’s made from dried figs.

After drying, the figs and distilled, and the end result tastes much like tsípouro. Nearly all of it is homemade, although some small companies have started to commercialize it.
