psiméni rakí

ψημένη ρακή

psimeni raki

Spiced 'roasted' rakí from Amorgós, similar to rakomelo but tempered down to 20% alcohol with caramelized sugar, honey and herbs. It's usually served at room temperature and celebrated with a Psiméni Rakí festival on 27 July.

Amorgos

Visitors to the island's stunning Chozoviótissa monastery are often offered a tipple, and it's a popular post-prandial drink in the island's tavernas.
