The clay pot, used for slow cooking meats that also lends its name to κρέας της στάμνας (kréas tis stámnas, usually lamb or kid); μοσχάρι στάμνας (moschári stámnas, beef) and αρνάκι στη στάμνα με φέτα και λαχανικά (arnáki sti stámna me féta kai lachaniká, lamb slow cooked with feta and vegetables).
