Ferns. Fern shoots Βλαστάρια φτέρης (vlastaria fteris) are edible (they taste a bit like asparagus). In hard times people used to gather them and pickle them, make them into patties with potatoes, fry them in batter or serve them in salads (best to wash off the fuzzy bits first, though).
