Tikva (τίκβα) is the word for pumpkin kolokythi among the Bulgarian-speaking Muslim Pomak minority of Rhodopi Mountains of Thrace and Eastern Macedonia.

One recipe, τίκβα ψητή (tikva psiti) or roast pumpkin is made with coarsely grated pumpkin and squash, mixed with a little olive oil, flour and sugar, spread out on a baking sheet and then baked until crispy.

Ζζίτκα Τίκβα (zitka tikva) is Pomak pumpkin soup, made with milk and bread.
