Pitaroudia, traditional Dodecanesse food

Considered the national dish of Rhodes: pitaroúdia are chick pea fritters made with tomatoes, onions and mint. On other Dodecanese islands, such as Nísyros, pitaroúdia are made with yellow split peas, and possibly oregano instead of mint.
