Ξινό νερό Φλώρινας (Xinó neró Flórinas) is a naturally carbonated mineral water from a village called Xinó Neró (Sour Water) near Flórina in West Macedonia. Unlike France and Italy, it’s not easy to find fizzy water in Greece, and this one is quite well known and good, they say, for your kidneys. And it indeed has a slightly sour taste to it.
They also make several fruit flavours.
Xinó (sour) is also the word for citric acid (κιτρικό οξύ/kitrikó oxý) available in most Greek supermarkets.
