mirto

myrtle, myrtle liqueur

Myrtle is used less in cooking than for liqueurs. Much of these are home-made, especially in Sardinia where myrtle grows everywhere. There's a red, made form the berries, and a white made from the leaves. Non-alcoholic versions also exist.
