the historic classification

Although there is also Barolo Classico and others, the most common use is in Chianti Classico: one of the seven sub-area of Chianti, Classico in the heart of Chianti, where the wine was first developed and carefully quality controlled by the Chianti Classico Constorium with the famous Gallo Nero (black cockerel) label.
