ricotta filled pastry moons

Sweet filled pastries popular across southern Italy, filled with ricotta and chocolate and orange zest, or mashed chick peas with honey, walnuts, cinnamon, chocolate and nuts, then baked or fried, sprinkled with sugar.

Other names (among many) are cavazunes, cassatelle and calzoons.
