chilled 'cooked cream'

'Cooked cream', in its simplest form, is cream, sugar, milk, gelatine and vanilla, boiled and then left to set in the refrigerator. But since its invention in Piedmont every imaginable flavouring, fruit, berry and coulis has found its way into to the innumerable recipes of what has become one of Italy's favourite desserts.
