gelone

oyster mushrooms

gone

Pleurotus ostreatus is found in Italy, although they seem under-appreciated. The Italians haven't come up with many good uses for geloni outside of putting it on top of pasta. They'd much rather have cardoncelli or king oyster mushrooms.

Also known as cerrene, orrecchiette, pleurotus, recchie and sbrise.
