miascia

bread pudding, Lake Como style

Miascia (also known as a torta di pane) is half way between a bread pudding and a fruit cake, made with stale bread and packed with pears, apples, raisins, lemons and a traditional sprig of rosemary. Best served warm, often served at breakfast.
