menta, mentuccia

mint

Italian cooks use at least four members of the mint family. Besides the familiar one, or menta, or mentastro verde, there is mentuccia, which can mean calamint (also called nepitella), pennyroyal (also called menta poleggio), and menta piperita (peppermint).
