Filu e Ferru

Sardinian grappa

Clear 45-degree spirit, Filu e Ferru (or Filuferru) literally means 'iron wire' from the days before Sardinia joined the kingdom of Italy, when it was illegal moonshine, distilled and secretly buried in containers, with a bit of wire poking out of the ground so it could found later by the owner and not by the police.
