traditional chestnut cake
Dense, flavourful, and not over sweet, this is the traditional country chestnut cake of Italy, prepared in a dozen difference ways up and down the Big Boot. Often quite similar to castagnaccio; sometimes topped with a mix of ricotta and cream.
In August, Agnino in Fivizzano (Tuscany) holds a Sagra di Pattona.
