The several varieties of porcini mushrooms, but mostly the prized boletus aereus are by national consensus tastiest when they grown around Borgotaro, in the Apennines south of Parma, where they are specially dried and exported, and have IGP status.

Borgotaro holds a Fiera del Fungo di Borgotaro in September.
