Carnival fritters Marchignana style, with a funny name that sounds like teeth cracking. The sweet dough is boiled, then fried, then topped with alchermes and powdered sugar. They say you can tell if a future relative enters the rooms while they are being prepared because they won't come out right.

In Arquata del Tronto they are called stummeri; in Osimo they call them cecetti
