Wood-shavings can be thin and small, or curl up in different shapes, and so with trucioli pasta; everyone's interprets it in a slightly different way.
In Verona, trucioli are thin snack crackers made since the Renaissance, flavoured with rosemary, or cheese, or pepper etc; they also make sweet versions with white chocolate or cocoa.
They might also be croutons.
