befanini

Christmas shortbread cookies

Named after the Befana, the good witch of Epiphany who brings good Italian bambini yet more treats on the night of 5 January, befanini were first made around Viareggio and are now made across Tuscany. They are cut out in various shapes and usually decorated with sprinkles.
