Ca' D'Oro

Giovanni Bon (d. 1444), locally known as Zane Bon, was from Campione d'Italia on the Swiss border, which gave Italy some of its best sculptors and architects in the 14th and 15th centuries. He designed the oldest section of the Palazzi Barbaro He worked with his son Bartolomeo and perfected the technique of paint and gold-leaf highlights that set their work apart, notably in the Ca’ d’Oro.
