Designed to resemble a Greek temple by Barcelona neo-neo Classicist architect Ricardo Bofill, the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC) was completed in 1996 has an airy, glassed in main foyer designed to replicate a great public square, and houses two main performance spaces, the Sala Gran (870 seats) and the Sala Petita (up to 450 seats).
