Maso di Banco

Follower of Giotto

One of Maso di Banco's Santa Croce frescoes

Maso di Banco (Florentine, active 1340s), was along with Taddeo Gaddi one of the more colourful and original pupils of Giotto, who was especially interested in portraying depth. His greatest (and only) works still in Florence are the scenes in Bardi and Holy Confessors chapels in Santa Croce.
