raspberries

One of the most popular but most fragile and expensive berries, framboises (raspberries) are available from June into September. The Auvergne Rhône Alpes region is the biggest raspberry producer in France.

A coulis de framboise (made with the tiny seeds removed), is often swirled around desserts. Raspberries also flavour a popular fruity vinaigre de framboise and Fragosta, the ‘raspberry Champagne’ from the Pyrenees.
