One of the most popular but most fragile and expensive berries, framboises (raspberries) are available from June into September. The Auvergne Rhône Alpes region is biggest raspberry producer in France.
A coulis de framboise, minus the tiny seeds, is often swirled around desserts. Raspberries also flavour a popular fruity vinaigre de framboise and Fragosta, the ‘raspberry Champagne’ from the Pyrenees.
